David J Otto, LMT BCTMB
attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English – Secondary Education in 1991. In 2000/2001, he attended and was certified as a Professional Massage Therapist at the Utah College of Massage Therapy (UCMT), Nevada Campus.
In the 25 years since: David worked as a licensed massage therapist with the Ritz-Carlton for 9 years in Henderson, NV; in 2003, he opened and continues his massage practice, Hands In Motion, in the Cities of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, & Henderson and Clark County business-license jurisdictions. In 2008, David worked with Drift Spa & Hammam at Palms Place, in Las Vegas, NV, for 4 years as a licensed massage therapist.
He instructed over 450 massage therapy students at the Nevada-campus of the Utah College of Massage Therapy regarding their professional development and other massage modalities for a total of 6 years; David, in 2004, attended TMC School (NCBTMB-approved Provider) in Chiangmai, Thailand, for a 90-hour Traditional Thai Massage Thai government certification.
David also co-founded, -developed, and -operated the Bodywork Concierge in 2008 for 2 years, a marketing/networking business in Henderson, NV, for bodyworkers and bodywork clients; and, in 2009, co-founded the Nevada Nonprofit Organization MWR Project Inc, to facilitate a large-scale, simultaneous massage therapy session to benefit a local healthcare-/medical-condition-related 501(c) Charity and the Massage Therapy Foundation in a one-day, occasional Expo, Attempt at the Guinness World Record®, and Public & Professional education-based course offering. Additionally, David co-founded and -operated Anatriptic Arts, LLC – an organization providing Massage Therapist/independent contractor relationships for hire to medical facilities, businesses, and individuals seeking improving their Quality of Life through chair and mobile table massage therapy.
He served the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) Nevada Chapter for 18 years, from 2006 to 2024, as Chapter President, 1st Vice-President, Delegate & Alternate Delegate, Government Relations Committee Chair, Education Committee Chair, Communications Committee Chair, Newsletter Editor, AMTA-NV.org Webmaster, and Member Committee Chair. David also co-organized the Las Vegas Massage Therapy Meetup networking group from 2007 to 2010.
