this post “Update to 2022 Pricing Schedule” on handsinmotion.info is Updated as of 11/1/2025

Quality Of Life Is Important

Since the opening of my business in 2003, the first Goal of Hands In Motion was getting clients to experience the healthful benefits of massage therapy – specifically, my offerings in the field.

As time has moved on, that first-Goal remains a sentinel-Goal, and adding value to regular Sessions of massage therapy to enhance massage therapy’s healthful benefits in a lifestyle-choice, a Quality Of Life activity, has become a primary Goal.

Keeping up with The Times

Existing and thriving in this vein of improving my clients’ lives, I have overlooked moving Hands In Motion forward with the times. Although improving The Ways clients find and interact with me as their Massage Therapist is always happening, I have failed to translate the value of the service I continue to -gratefully- provide into the Pricing of my Services.

There are many considerations applied to any business’s pricing-structure: Expense is the primary category in which what my client pays for a single Service is translated into a fair and productive exchange: Customer pays, Business provides – Both benefit.

Since 2003, Hands In Motion’s Standard rates have not changed – basically, a “$1/minute + $10 Location Fee” price for an hour-Service has been an easy way to be compassionate and fair to my client and me [dba Hands In Motion, as a sole-proprietorship]. I have, however, overlooked the actual increase in costs (eg. Expenses) over the past 18+ years, including the spending-value of the US Dollar according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Consumer Price Index (CPI).

In January 2022, the CPI cites the largest annual, rolling-12-month (7.5%) Inflation increase since 1982. Today, 2003’s $70 has lost about 38% of its value in the current U.S. market for buying goods and services. To “beat inflation”, Hands In Motion should be charging over $105 for a 60-minute Signature Massage, an increase of $35 (eg. 50% more) – this Fee-amount is not unusual to find in the Las Vegas area for outcall massage therapy services.

Keeping You #1

As Hands In Motion’s intent has always been for its clients to experience the healthful benefits of massage therapy, receiving massage at a more-contemporary price-point of $105/hour is still a lower-cost alternative to many medical interventions for the prevention of and recovery from acute and chronic myoskeletal-related injuries and conditions involving muscular pain.

The sustained & rising costs of supplies (gasoline & Shipping, primarily) and services (Customer Relationship Management-software, like Massagebook.com), which make up the Hands In Motion Experience that my clients have grown to know and love over the years, are now pressing the importance of continuing to remain viable as a business … and that includes increasing the Price of Hands In Motion’s Services.

HIM’s Session-pricing will NOT be “$105/hour” on July 1, 2022

This price-increase aims to continue to honor HIM’s clients who prioritize and value their own myoskeletal health as an improvement to their own Qualities Of Life – Multi-Session (HIM’s “Series”) pricing will only go up slightly; Single-Session/Standard pricing will go up more. Following is the new Pricing Matrix that will be reflected on-line in the Pricing of Hands In Motion’s Services, as of July 1, 2022:

2022 updated Pricing - Standard & Series

*does not include any additional Location Fee – HOTEL-Fee that may apply

Notes about the Pricing Matrix:

• Standard, 1-hour Session increases the most: 29% (not “50%”) more than 2003-2021.
• Most of HIM’s clients are Value Pricing customers.
• Best Value, per Session (pre- and post-Change) = [a pre-paid] Series of 5, 1-hour Signature Massages when Client also Provides Table & Linens; basically: $60/60-min-Session when a client provides his/her own Table & Linens.

NEW – Membership Pricing! In an effort to make massage therapy a part of your lifestyle, Membership Plans are available only to Current-Clients on July 1, 2022 – When you keep your Visa/Mastercard/Discover/AmEx card (HSA & FSA Plan cards qualify) on file with Massagebook, you agree to be billed monthly for one Signature Massage (3 Membership Plans available) and I will assist you in making sure you get your regular massage therapy session.

Rollover your Plan’s Session – Schedules can get hectic at times; if not used in the month in which it was billed per your Membership Plan Agreement, you may use that session up to 2 months after it’s originally-credited Month (ie. a July Membership-session is good until the end of the September-credited Month). Each Membership Plan bills for and adds to your Massagebook-account a single Signature Massage – you may Pause or Cancel at any time through your online Massagebook-account.

2022 updated Pricing - Membership

Benefit-packed Sessions

You get:

  • a 21-year-veteran who’s worked full-time hours for all 21+ years, with some clients receiving regular Sessions for over 10, consecutive years,
  • an LMT that is committed to being accountable to his profession as a dual-membershipped professional – both AMTA & ABMP – and Board-Certified in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork,
  • a full 60 minutes, per hour of hands-on Time, during every Session,
  • to save $ on gas getting to/from a clinic/spa/office,
  • to reduce stress (that can ruin a massage quickly!) and reduce risk for being on the road in your car,
  • to save time in traveling that’s better spent doing something else you love.

Ways to Economize

To keep/make massage therapy sessions a part of your improved Quality Of Life, you may:

  • Pre-empt the Change – now through June 30, 2022, you may purchase as many Services as you like at the current Pricing. Once they are credited to your account, you may keep them there as long as it takes for you to use them.
  • Pay the New Rates, period: no tipping – as you may currently feel like you want to add gratuity to the Standard or Value Price of his Services, David always appreciates gratuity, but it is never required nor expected – roll your gratuity into paying the New Rate;
    • The new Membership Plans available combine the benefits of convenience and saving a bit of dough with your commitment: compared to the Standard Rate, Members save 10%/session (20%/session when providing your own Table & Linens).
  • DISCOUNT Purchase in bulk – Series of Signature Massages are available; when you pre-pay for a number of Sessions (in a Series-purchase), you’re committing to a lifestyle of regular massage or, at least, affording yourself future Sessions: guaranteed! Series can also be transferred (eg. gifted, shared, etc) to another [New!] client, and always include the standard Location Fee with the transferred Session;
  • DISCOUNT Get your own Table & Linens – David appreciates your dedication to your Series-purchases already: why not get an even lower Rate in appreciation of your keeping your own massage equipment on-site and laundering your own sheets?
For an additional $20-Discount per Session, you agree to replace the massage therapy table and fitted-linens Hands In Motion usually provides with every Service with your own. Here’s a breakdown of some typical Costs for receiving this Discount:
    • ~$35 for a set of your own, massage table-sized linens, delivered – wash within 24 hours, on “Hot” machine-setting; this may be an annual or biennial purchase, per person at your Location
    • ~$250 for an affordable, professional-grade massage table – it will likely occupy a space in your home of approximately 8-10”-x-36-40” (garage, spare bedroom, office, closet, etc); this is usually a one-time purchase

As always, I appreciate your getting massage therapy – whether it’s with me (once or more-often, this year and/or 2, 3, or 10+ years down the road) or another licensed massage therapist I can assist you in finding, via recommendation or referral.

Additionally, I value your growth and continued, healthy maintenance of your body, mind, and spirit when you choose to utilize HIM’s massage therapy sessions – I look forward to working with and assisting you in achieving your health goals!

Be Well,
